Basketball

Travis PTA is partnering with the Harriet & Joe Foster YMCA, located on 1234 W. 34th St., to give our students new opportunities for team sports at Travis. Learn sportsmanship and basketball skills against kids your age!

  • Register by January 5th, 2026 and specify that you would like to play on a Travis team

  • Everyone is welcome - there are no tryouts

  • Sinclair ES is the other HISD school using this model so far (that we know of)

  • If you’re a YMCA member, great! If not, you can join as an Impact Member for $25 per month, in order to register for a league.

  • $129 registration fee for winter semester (7 week session), plus $13 for a YMCA jersey

  • Please contact familyandneighborhood@travispta.org if you need financial assistance for basketball

  • Practice starts the week of January 12th, with games beginning January 24th and ending February 28th

  • Practice and game days TBD, but we believe they will be Saturdays - sorry we don’t have this info yet

  • We need parent coaches for each team that forms (no basketball experience required) and alternate places to practice - we welcome your help!
