DEADLINE TO SUBMIT VETERANS DAY PHOTOS IS THIS FRIDAY
Veterans Day is next Monday, November 11. Would you like to commemorate a Veteran from your family? Please email a photo of your Veteran along with the information below to Mrs. Flecker. All photos will be on display through a slideshow at our Veterans Day Luncheon on Monday, November 11. Don’t forget to invite veterans to join us for this special occasion! (If you have submitted photos for the slideshow in previous years, please communicate with Mrs. Flecker to request photos be included again this year.)
Veterans should be related to a student or staff member of Travis.
Photos must be submitted no later than 3pm this Friday, November 8.
Photos must be submitted electronically.
With your photo, please include the following:
Veteran’s name (first and last)
Veteran’s rank and branch of service
Relation to Travis student or staff member
Staff member or student name and grade level
FIFTH GRADE FUNDRAISER
Travis fifth graders are currently selling Butterbraids pastries and Wooden Spoon cookie dough to help fund their end of year trip, moving on ceremony, and graduation dance party. If you are interested in making a purchase, ask your favorite fifth grader or catch them at their sales table after school on the playground in the coming weeks. PARENT LEARNING SERIES ON BULLYING
Travis counselor Leslie Smith and Dr. Brenda Arteaga from the Harris County Department of Education Teaching and Learning Center will present on recognizing bullying to Travis parents on Thursday, November 7 from 6-7:3pm in the Travis Library. If you plan to attend, please take the E-Colors Personality Inventory prior to the session at equilibria.com/PDI, print out your color combination, and bring it with you to the session to reference.
JR. REDCOAT CLINIC AT HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL
Travis students are invited to join other area elementary and middle school students and Heights High School’s dance team, the RedCoats, on Saturday, November 16 for a dance clinic, and then perform with the RedCoats at the Heights High School Winter Recital on Saturday, December 6. The clinic is open to kids ages 4-14 and costs $40, which includes a shirt, snack, and entry to the Winter Recital for the participant and one parent.
