Travis Family, here are a few updates about what's happening on campus:
- Travis Administration has commissioned a traffic study commencing this week to help us identify how to manage our drop off and pick up procedures most efficiently for those in cars and on foot. Stay tuned for more as we work to make these processes run as smoothly and safely as possible.
- Due to district budget constraints, former technology enrichment teacher Mr. Karam has been reassigned to another campus. Due to the resignation of a third-grade teacher, Ms. Flecker has been reassigned to third grade, and the five fifth grade classes have been redistributed across the four remaining classrooms. With our strong teaching team in fifth grade, we expect continued impactful learning for our students. Additional budget cuts were addressed through the generosity of donations and financial support from Travis PTA and Travis Foundation.
- Travis' state accountability rankings for the 2017-18 school year have been published HERE. Know that these measurements are almost exclusively based on STAAR results. At Travis, we believe that test scores are only one measure of progress and student success. We will continue to evolve in meeting our students’ needs while staying true to our mission of educating the whole child through a focus on the three Is: Inclusive, Individualized, and Innovative learning opportunities for all students.
