Listening is a skill critical to students’ success in the classroom and in life. This is a skill you can help your child develop. Observe your routines at home. Do you find yourself repeating the same things over and over to your child? This could mean that your child is developing a habit of not listening attentively.
When asking your child to complete a task or to give you information, make eye contact with your child and make the communication meaningful. This will support your child as s/he develops strong listening skills.
