Carnival is Saturday, Oct. 24 – just a little more than two weeks away! This is the first big event of the year. Get outside with your family and be part of the Travis community. Have fun and directly support our teachers with the proceeds! Visit travispta.org/carnival for the latest information, and get more Carnival news by signing up for PTA’s Facebook group at http://www.travispta.org/contact/.
Booth Volunteers – Room parents should contact Nichola Renfrew to get booth assignments, if you do not already know your assignment. Everyone else may contact your room parent for all the details.
Carnival Sponsorship – We have a mix and match menu of choices this year to fit every budget, along with many great ways to show your support. Proceeds from the Carnival directly support our classrooms, and sponsorships are a big part of that final number. Learn more at travispta.org/shop-carnival.
Wristbands – Still only $25 but now get the complete Carnival experience! Wristbands offer unlimited fun at every standard booth PLUS a turn at the premium booths. Pick a pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch, get your face painted and get a complimentary kids lunch at the food court. Need multiple wristbands? Discounts available. Visit travispta.org/carnival to read about important details before they go on sale. Wristbands are available for sale online starting Oct. 11 ending Oct. 18. Wristbands also will be available for sale at the Carnival, while supplies last.
Boo Bucks – Wristbands not for you? Purchase individual booth tickets in advance and avoid the lines. Early sales begin Oct. 11 and end Oct. 18. Tickets are available for purchase online and via a paper form. Keep in mind, a complete Carnival experience will cost $35 in Boo Bucks – that’s before the kids eat lunch! (The wristband really is a good deal.)
T-Shirts – This year’s Carnival T-shirt is made of high quality cotton featuring the art of our six category winners on a nice blue background for $15. Shirts go on sale Oct. 15 at Fine Arts Night, so be sure to attend this great event. There are limited quantities, and we do expect to sell out!
Pumpkin Decorating Contest – Travis ruled the scarecrow decorating in 2014. Now, it’s time to see what you can do with pumpkins! Carve, paint, decoupage, Bedazzle or whatever — decorate your hearts out! Pumpkin entries will be due the morning of Monday, Oct. 19 and will be on display up through Carnival. Contestants will provide their own pumpkins. Entry in the pumpkin contest will be $5, only if you want your pumpkin returned. Otherwise, entry is free, and your creation will be part of our Pumpkin Chunkin’ booth. There will be grade-level categories and school-wide categories. More information is coming soon.
International Food Booth – Do you make jams or jellies? How about pickles? If you’re into jarring of any kind, the NEW International Food Booth needs you! Let us know what you’re willing to donate to our newest Fall Carnival booth. Contact Nichola Renfrew to find out more.
