Hello Travis Community!

WOW, our Travis family is truly remarkable. We have surpassed our goal of $160k and we are still going strong! We have unlocked our top school-wide incentive for WonderPops! but the classroom incentives and competitions are still running until 9pm tonight!

Thank you to every single student and family who is sharing their PLEDGE PAGE with friends and family far and wide! Every dollar and donation matters!

Travis Fun Run - Come see your Tiger!

The annual Travis Fun Run is tomorrow Friday, September 20th. Even though we reached our goal of $160,000, it’s not too late - Boosterthon will be open for donations through next week and the class competition portion of Fun Run will end at 9pm tonight. Use Travis ID 222-986. Donate now!

For tomorrow - your Tiger can dress in their class color above, and then come cheer from the fences of the Spark Park - see the schedule below.

$160,000 - We Did It!

We reached our goal of raising $160,000. We cannot thank this amazing Travis community enough. These funds are so important to the school and the programs our Travis Tigers enjoy throughout the year. In celebration of hitting our goal, all students and staff will get a Wonder Pop Popsicle on Friday, Sept. 27th. Thanks again to all those who donated and good luck to all kids participating in the Fun Run tomorrow!

Hispanic Heritage Month

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, our school library is proud to highlight the rich history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic communities. This special month is a time to recognize the diverse voices and stories that have shaped our world and continue to inspire us today. Our display showcases artifacts and books by Hispanic and Latinx authors, inviting us to explore new perspectives and foster a deeper appreciation for the heritage that enriches our society.

The Library Co-Chairs, Amanda Brown and Jessie Sumners, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers– Veronica Garza, Cristina Seal, Ana Tapia, and Amy Vonderau– whose contributions, creativity, time, and dedication transformed this display into a vibrant celebration of culture and knowledge. Your contributions and time have made this month even more meaningful for our school community, and we are truly grateful for the passion you’ve brought to this project. Together, we continue to create a welcoming space where all voices are heard and celebrated. Let’s take this opportunity to explore the stories on display, reflect on the beauty of diversity, and learn from the incredible legacies that Hispanic Heritage Month honors.

Garden Work Days

Join fellow Travis families for garden workdays on Sunday, September 22nd from 8 - 10 am.  We will be cleaning and preparing garden beds for the upcoming Fall planting season. Mark your calendars for the next Travis Spirit Night (& Day!) - Thursday, Sept. 26th ALL DAY at Dish Society on Yale St. Mention Travis Elementary at check-out to earn our school 20% of sales. Thanks Dish Society and go Travis Tigers!

Report Cards!

First six weeks report cards will go home on Friday, September 27th.

Fall Break

Quick reminder that school is closed Monday, Oct. 3-Tuesday, Oct. 4. We will see everyone back on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Coffee with PTA

Parents are invited to join us Friday, October 11th at 7:30am for a PTA general meeting. PTA will be serving coffee and light bites in the cafeteria. Please sign in at the front desk first. We understand if you need to bring a younger sibling or leave early for work engagements. Please join us for information and connection!

Meet Your PTA

PTA Board is proud to present our VP of Programs, Cari Shoemate. Cari is mom to Leo in 5th, Emma in 3rd, and Dylan in pre-K. She has run 7 marathons (including 1 ultra!) and enjoys traveling with her family to new places. As VP of Programs, Cari spearheads three different committees: (1) Health and Wellness, (2) Arts, and (3) Environmental. She will also organize Family Movie Night in December and World Cultures Night in the spring.  Currently, she's helping Health and Wellness put on an amazing Fun Run the kids are sure to enjoy. If you are interested in learning more about the VP of Programs role or volunteering with any of these events, please reach out to Cari at programs@travispta.org!
