President’s Message

Hello Travis Community!

As we celebrate and share in our gratitudes and thanks this coming week, I want to take a moment and thank our wonderful Travis community for your enormous generosity and support! From packing our halls for STEM night and jumping right in to engage with all community events, to baking pies and continuously stocking our fridge, you always answer the call to support our teachers, staff and students. We appreciate ALL you do and it is an honor to serve this community.

As my kids cozied up with coats and extra layers today, I am reminded that many children do not have this luxury. We are still collecting winter coats for the Oak Forest Foster Closet until TOMORROW (Friday). Donation bins are located near the front desk in the entryway and upstairs outside of the art room. Thank you for your support!

STEM Night Success!

We hope all of our Travis Tigers had an amazing and educational time at STEM Night! A special shoutout to our STEM Co-Chairs (pictured above) for making the night a huge success. Didn’t get a chance to do all of the hands on learning stations? Not to worry! PTA’s got you covered. Below are links to all of the instructions:

PTA’s Winter Coat Drive

TOMORROW is the LAST DAY to donate your gently used jackets and coats for our Winter Coat Drive. Adult and kids sizes with no rips or stains are greatly appreciated. All donations benefit Oak Forest Foster Closet. Donation bins are located near the front desk in the entryway and upstairs outside of the art room. Give the gift of warmth and donate now!

Thanksgiving Break

No school November 25th - 29th. We hope you have a joyous Thanksgiving and see everyone back Monday, December 2nd.

Spirit Night!

Don’t feel like cooking ? Help our school by dining in or ordering take-out from Grace Pizza & Shakes! Mention Travis Elementary to earn our school 15% of sales for Wednesday, December 4th, from 5pm - 9pm. Thanks to Grace Pizza & Shakes and go tigers!

Coffee with your PTA

Parents are invited to join us Friday, December 6th at 7:30am for a PTA general meeting. PTA will be serving coffee and light bites in the cafeteria - please sign in at the front desk first. We understand if you need to bring a younger sibling or leave early for work engagements. Please join us for information and connection!

Kindergarten Campout

PTA is proud to sponsor the annual Kindergarten Campout December 6th-8th at Huntsville State Park. Happy Camping!

Stock the Fridge!

As we move into the next joyful time of year the PTA Hospitality Crew is looking to extend the season of giving by Stocking the Lounge for our wonderful Travis Staff to enjoy on Monday, December 9th! Like our last Stock the Lounge event, we’d love to make this an easy grab for everyone, so we are asking that the items be individually packaged. We need your help to make this possible, so be on the lookout for the Parent Square sign-up on Monday, December 2nd. Items should be labeled “PTA - stock lounge” and dropped off at the front office on or before Monday, December 9th. Thank you in advance for continuing to joyfully give to our teachers and staff!

Shakespeare Players Performances:

Join the Travis Shakespeare Players Tuesday, Dec. 10th @6pm and/or Thursday, Dec. 12 @6pm in the Multipurpose Room for an evening you won’t forget. Performances include scenes from Macbeth, Twelfth Night, Henry V, and the Tempest. See you there!

CCC+ Holiday Fund

Celebrate our amazing Cafeteria Staff, Crossing Guards, Custodians, and Front Office Staff (CCC+) by donating to the annual CCC+ Holiday Fund. Donations can be sent via Venmo to @andrea-jane-2, last four digits of phone are 5116. Donation deadline is Tuesday, December 17th. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Annual Travis Jingle Run

Mark your calendars for the annual Travis Jingle Run on Friday, December 13th at 3pm on the Travis track. Donate $1 or more and receive a jingle bell for your shoes! All donations go to the CCC+ Holiday Fund (same holiday fund mentioned above for our amazing Tiger office staff, custodian team, crossing guards, and cafeteria crew)! If you are not able to join in on the jingly fun, donations can be sent via Venmo to @andrea-jane-2, last four digits of phone are 5116. Thanks!

Family Movie Night!

Join us in the Spark Park for a cozy evening of community fun on Tuesday, December 17th. PTA will project Elf and provide concessions for Travis students and families. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair for this special, free event. Doors open at 5:30 and the movie starts at 6:00! Head over to PTA’s website for more info!
