President’s Message

Dear Travis Community,

What a wonderful week it has been as we get ready for a joy-filled holiday break! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an impromptu indoor movie night - what a great way to cozy up and enjoy the company of Travis friends and families!

This week also wraps up our CCC+ and Enrichment team collections and the generosity of our community is truly amazing. Thanks to your support and donations, our 25 custodial, cafeteria, crossing guard and front desk team members will each receive a $245 gift. Our Enrichment Team of eight wonderfully dedicated teachers will share a total collection of over $5,500 across all 6 grades - quite amazing.

We hope you and your family have a safe and spledid holiday vacation and we can’t wait to start the New Year with you when we return!

A Heartfelt Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who has given to our school, teachers, students, and community in any way this semester! As a parent community, we have accomplished SO much, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of you! Thank you for donating your time, resources, supplies, and talents. This community is a big part of what makes Travis Elementary the special place it is. We’re looking forward to another great semester in the new year. Thank you again!

Heights Holiday Lights Family Bike Ride

Join Bike Houston on Friday, December 20th for a Heights Holliday Lights Family Bike Ride. We’ll gather on the Norhill Esplanade (between Euclid and Bayland) for hot chocolate at 5:15 p.m. The (slow, short, and well-lit) ride will begin at 6 p.m.

Chess Masters Spring Semester Sign-Up

If your Travis Tiger is interested in learning chess or honing their skills, make sure to sign-up for chess. Students will be grouped according to their level. Please register online first to secure your child's spot, before you make a payment. Payment options are zelle, venmo or check. Winter Break

Travis is closed for Winter Break from Dec. 23rd - Jan. 6th. We will see all of our Travis Tigers back on Tuesday, Jan. 7th. Travis PTA hopes you have a wonderful Winter Break!

PTA Spotlight

The PTA Board proudly presents our Spirit Store Co-Chairs, Layla Trude and Jaclyn Browning. Layla has Wren (4th grade) and Lark (3rd).  She enjoys reading, traveling, and playing mahjong. Jaclyn has two daughters, Ellie (K) and Emma (future Tiger). She enjoys yoga, traveling, and trying new restaurants. As Spirit Store Co-Chairs, they are responsible for designing and stocking Travis spirit gear. They also run the PTA spirit store at various events throughout the year.
