President’s Message

Hello Travis Community!

I hope you had a wonderful, long Labor Day weekend and are enjoying this short school week. Next week is jam-packed with Fun Run Kick-off, Open House, and Grandparent’s Day, so get ready and, most importantly, GET REGISTERED today for the fun run!

Classes reaching 100% registration, with every student in the class signed up, will receive the Paw Print award displayed outside the cafeteria and a special shoutout on the morning announcements! LET’S GO TRAVIS TIGERS!! We got this!

MONDAY is Fun Run Kick-off Day AND spirit day for students! Travis tigers can wear purple or their favorite Travis t-shirt!

Tomorrow, don’t forget to join us for our first Coffee with The Principal at 7:30a in the cafeteria. Special thank you to LaMex for a very generous discount on their delicious breakfast tacos for our gathering!

Fun Run Kickoff - Monday, Sept. 9th

We are kicking off our Fun Run festivities on Monday, September 9th. In celebration, make sure your Travis Tiger wears purple or Travis spirit gear to school! And make sure to REGISTER NOW! Use Travis ID 222-986. We are at 61% registered and counting!

Coffee with Mr. Church

Parents are invited to join us Friday, September 6th at 7:30am for a conversation with Mr. Church in the cafeteria - please sign in at the front desk. Breakfast from La Mex will be served. Special thanks to La Mex who graciously discounted their delicious food for our meeting. We understand if you need to bring a younger sibling or leave early for work engagements. Please join us for information and connection!

Stock the Lounge!

With school in full swing and learning underway, the Travis PTA Hospitality Crew will be stocking the lounge for teachers and staff to enjoy on Monday, September 16th! We'd love to make this an easy grab for everyone, so we are asking that the items be individually packaged. We need your help to make this possible, please sign up to donate if you can. Items should be labeled "PTA - stock lounge" and dropped off at the front office on or before the morning of Monday, September 16th. Thank you!

Travis Open House

Travis parents & students: Tour your Tiger’s classroom and enrichment classes from 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesday, September 10th. We hope to see you there!

Grandparents’ Day Lunch

Grandparents and family members are invited to join their student during their designated lunch period on Friday, September 13th. Admission tickets will be sent home through classroom teachers for parents to distribute. Family members will wait in the library until their grade level lunch begins. This is a free event - guests may bring their own food or purchase an optional cafeteria meal separately through the front office for $5. PTA recommends advanced purchase if you plan to buy the cafeteria meal.

GT Testing:

If you want your Travis Tiger to GT tested, make sure to see Mrs. Lytle’s message in Parent Square for more info and fill out the GT Testing Request Link by September 16, 2024.

Travis Fun Run Info:

The annual Travis Fun Run is Friday, September 20th, and is the culmination of 2 weeks of fundraising for our school. Students will run laps around the Spark Park while bravely dodging dragons, jousting, and more for our Castle Quest Fun Run. Pledges can be made as a flat donation or per minute to Boosterthon. Classes compete to raise the most money in their grade levels and within the school. Parents can cheer from the fences of the Spark Park - see the schedule below. Travis Elementary and Travis PTA use the proceeds to pay for field trips, garden instruction, and other school-wide initiatives. We hope you will join us in raising money for our wonderful school!

Travis Spirit Night - Dish Society!

Mark your calendars for the next Travis Spirit Night - Thursday, Sept. 26th at Dish Society on Yale St. Mention Travis Elementary at check-out to earn our school 20% of sales. Thanks Dish Society and go Travis Tigers!

Report Cards!

First six weeks report cards will go home on Friday, September 27th.

Spirit Store - Restocked!

The Tiger Spirit Store is restocked! You can order t-shirts, yard signs, and other Travis merchandise in our Spirit Store and have them delivered to your tiger’s classroom.

Meet Your PTA

PTA Board is proud to present our VP of Fundraising, Lauren Hazard! Lauren is a mom of two boys, Connor (Travis 3rd grader) and Asher (Travis Kindergartener). She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends. Lauren is serving her second year as VP of Fundraising. Her role is to oversee our two major fundraising events: Fun Run and Fall Carnival. She also manages our Concession and Spirit Store teams. If you are interested in volunteering with any or all of these events, please reach out to Lauren at fundraising@travispta.org!
