It’s almost here! Our annual Travis Fall Carnival is THIS SATURDAY and it all begins with the 5th Grade Parade around Woodland Heights. at 10:15a!

Make your plans now for a jam packed day and get ready for tons of fun! There will be face painting, a dunk tank, cake walk, Photo Booth, bouncy house, a haunted house and so much more!

Last Chance for Will Call!

The deadline to pre-order your wristbands and Tiger Bucks is tomorrow at noon! Quick reminder: Entry to Carnival is free and open to everyone. But you can buy wristbands and Tiger Bucks.

Wristbands allow the wearer to play at all Carnival booths unlimited times. Tiger Bucks are purple tickets used for food and drink purchases. Each Tiger Buck = $1.

We will close online sales tomorrow at noon. You can pick up your online orders at the Will Call table on Saturday. You can always purchase wristbands and Tiger Bucks on the day of the carnival, but purchasing online will let you skip the long lines! Get them now so you don’t have to wait in line on Oct. 26th! Wristbands and Tiger Bucks can be purchased here.

Carnival Volunteers Needed!

The Travis Fall Carnival is Saturday, October 26th, from 11am-3pm. We will have a haunted house, dunk tank, games, prizes, and loads of fun! 5th grade parents and students will also be hosting the annual parade through our neighborhood. 80% of funds raised go directly back into our classrooms as teacher supply reimbursements.

But PTA needs YOU! Carnival is run by volunteers. Each class/grade-level has been assigned different booths to work throughout the day. So check out Parent Square now to sign up for a 30 minute shift. Your help is greatly appreciated and will make the Carnival a wonderful success.

Spooky Art Contest

Calling all Artists! All art contest canvases are now on display in the lower level hallway windows.  Please stop by to see them during Carnival or whenever you are at Travis!

Art contest winners will be announced at Carnival at 1pm on the basketball court. Winners will be selected from each grade level with art prizes provided by Big Blue Whale and Jerry’s Artarama. (Special thanks to those two generous sponsors!) New this year, TWO grand prize winners will be awarded from our pool of finalists: a K-2nd winner and a 3rd-5th winner. Both grand prize winners’ designs will be printed on vinyl water bottle stickers and every student at Travis will receive their respective grade grouping’s sticker. 

Carnival Raffle

We are excited to announce a very special, local prize for this year’s Carnival raffle item! TridentPro Lighting, the company that installs the beloved dinosaur holiday lights on the Woodland Heights esplanade, will be donating the following (valued at over $1,500):

• A full roof outline with commercial grade C9 lighting up to 200 linear feet (which will easily cover most homes)

• (1) battery powered multi color function garland

• (1) battery powered multi color function 32” wreath

• Either bush string lighting up to (8) 50’ strands or 100 linear feet of commercial grade C9 sidewalk lighting with stakes included

Many thanks to our raffle sponsor Sara Black with Nan and Company Properties! And thanks to Roman Dijac, owner of TridentPro Lighting, who is a neighbor and Travis alumni! We will be selling raffle tickets for $25 each, or 5 raffle tickets for $100. Raffle tickets can be purchased here and sales will close the day of Carnival. A winner will be chosen at random and announced that evening. Best of luck!

Carnival Costume Contest.

Register now for the Carnival Costume Contest via this Google form link! Contestants will “walk the runway” on the day of the Carnival at 1pm for the judges and their family and friends. Trophies and prizes will be given in the following categories immediately after the contest:

Meet us at the dinosaur bones at 12pm on Saturday for the 2024 Carnival Flash Mob!

Storybook Character Day:

On Thursday, October 31, 2024 - dress up as your favorite storybook character. Show off your creativity and passion for your favorite book! No handheld props, please.

Coffee with Mr. Church

Parents are invited to join us Friday, November 1st at 7:30am for a conversation with Mr. Church in the cafeteria - please sign in at the front desk. We understand if you need to bring a younger sibling or leave early for work engagements. Please join us for information and connection!
